How would you describe your music to anyone who may have never heard it?
Reporter
I would describe my music as urban contemporary gospel with pop, rock, and hip-hop influences. I minister in song, the non-compromising word of God.

What is the significance of my musical moniker?
Reporter
The significance of my musical moniker is that it was given to me by my father at six months old. The name Coppe [pronounced copy] was given to me by my father because my hair looked like a brand-new shiny copper penny. Given this information, I decided to spell it Coppe by dropping the letters e and r.

What are or who are some of your musical influences?
Reporter
I wouldn't say that I have a single most musical influence, but the tracks are from my late husband, Johnny "J," who produced numerous songs for 2Pac. People have commented when they hear my music it sounds like 2Pac is going to start rapping on it. All the musical influences that Johnny put into the music, I did not reference or have any other artist lyrically. I did my own thing.

What are my musical inspirations?
Reporter
My musical inspirations come first from reading the Bible, and then I look at life situations, past, present, or future events, which inspire me to write. Besides that, listen to the track that I'm about to write to.

What’s the brand new song about?
Reporter
My song "Pick the Gate" is about picking which gate you want to enter, either Heaven's Gate or Hell's Gate.

What’s something you hope people take from your music?
Reporter
I can hope that people take from my songs the seriousness of what’s going on in our society and dive into the word of God because it is the living, breathing word. So many prophecies have come true right now. I pray people to wake up!

Which songs on the album were the most fun to write, and which were the most challenging to write?
Reporter
The songs that were the most fun to write on my album are "Dance In The Dark," "Swing To The Right," "Keep Asking," "Work on You," and "Time 2 Get Wired." Those songs came with ease, the Holy Spirit anointing was very strong, these songs were fun up tempos to make, and did not require me to references from events.
The songs that were most challenging for me to write were "War Cry," "Jesus Rocks," "The Breastplate of Righteousness," and "Come and Accept Jesus." These songs were more challenging to write because I had to be biblically correct and historically correct about the event that have either happened or prophesized to take place.

What’s the new album about?
Reporter
The Breastplate of Righteousness, my album is about the covering that God has over my life and the salvation given to us in Jesus and the protection he gives to those who believe.
